We are very strong believers in good nutrition and preventative care. Taking this approach, has definitely kept our dogs healthier, it has also cut down, on them becoming ill. We were feeding all of our adult dogs, Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Formula for Adults but because of the economy, we've had switch them to Purina Dog Chow. We do however supplement their diet by giving them time to time. scrambled eggs and chicken. We also have all of our adults on a daily vitamin-mineral supplement. They are also on, a regular monthly schedule for their flea and tick topical medication and also their heart worm preventative. We also groom, all of my dogs regularly, using our new FURminator. Which, I have to say, I absolutely love!!! We also keep their ears clean, their nails trimmed and bathe them, when necessary. We also live about 2 minutes away from our Veterinarian, which I have to say, I am completely thrilled about. My Veterinarian's office, offers the latest equipment and procedures. They also have the top notch Veterinarian's that I have personally dealt with. They are extremely knowledgeable and up to date on the latest information, techniques and procedures for both preventative, surgical and emergency Veterinary medicine. I also strongly believe in scheduling regular check up visits for our pets. Doing this, assures me that they continue being healthy and that I am doing what's best for my dogs. We take great pride and pleasure in caring for our dogs. At times, it may be time consuming but well worth our efforts! In my heart I know that my dogs appreciate it and that's what matters to us!!! |

Tennessee Dogue De Bordeaux
About Us
We live in the Upper Cumberland area of the beautiful State of Tennessee. We live in a log cabin, on 4 acres of land and we absolutely love it and so do our Dogues. We consider our Dogue De Bordeaux's to be, much more than our pets. We take great pride in the care that we give them and we hope that we can help you find the next new member of your family.
I first became interested in the Dogue De Bordeaux when I watched the movie, "Turner and Hooch." Many years later, when I met my husband and we started dating, he wanted me to meet his best friend, "Hooch." I remember going to his home for the very first time and as I neared his front door, this huge dog with a massive head, a huge jaw and big, sharp, pearly white teeth, looked at me through the glass door and he started to bark at me. Though I was on the opposite side of the door, I made a U turn and started to walk towards Marc's truck. He took my hand and told me that everything would be okay and that Hooch was in fact, very friendly. To be perfectly honest, it took me several minutes before I worked up the courage to enter Marc's home. Now, there stood Marc, holding Hooch by his collar, asking me to walk up to them. At first I hesitated but with more coaxing, I did it. I walked up to the two of them and allowed Hooch to smell my shoes, pants and then my hands. By this time, the barking had already stopped, so I slowly walked over to the couch and sat down. Within a few seconds, Hooch came over to me with a ball in his mouth. There was no way, that I would even think of taking that ball out of his mouth and play catch with him. But, he opened his mouth and dropped that slimy ball right unto my lap. He then sat there looking at the ball, then he'd look up at me and I knew that he wanted me to throw it for him. So, I finally threw the ball and I couldn't believe how thrilled and happy he was, as he played. Well, needless to say that was the beginning of our relationship. Hooch is very special to me. He's always been extremely attentive and loving toward me and also to my son Samuel. Who at the time, was only a year old. Samuel, loves Hooch and Hooch loves Samuel too. When we lived in Florida, our property was completely fenced in and when Samuel would go for a walk, Hooch was always by his side. We would just sit down on our back porch and watch the two of them take their walks together. It truly was a site to see! We, then welcomed Cami into our family, who was approximately 4 months old when we got her and so full of energy and life. I felt bad for Hooch, having to deal with this new puppy. Who would actually follow him everywhere and would not let him get any rest. She would jump on him, she'd tug and bite his ears and his hind legs and he would just take it. I'm just glad that she mellowed out, as she got older. But, they all got along together and they also got along with my dogs Dino, Poocho and Chance.
